About Your Character:

Character Name: Bartemius ‘Barty’ Crouch, Jr.

Age: 36

Brief Physical Description: He’s tall and sallow, with brown hair and brown eyes and somewhat sharp features. He’s got big eyes and a penetrating stare, which can unnerve some people. His dress is always fashionable and neat, but he looks a little batty anyway.

Brief Personality Description: Barty is a diabolical genius and aggressive with it. Privately, he is a bookish, lonely man, who seizes on every opportunity to learn. Publicly, he doesn't like people. In fact, it's best to consider yourself on the wrong side of him until you can prove otherwise.

He expects nothing less than perfection from those under him, as his father did for him. He's paranoid about getting things wrong and will work above and beyond to ensure that his performance is seamless.

He's also utterly ruthless, again to be like his father, and will not tolerate any disruption to the Dark Lord's plans.

Brief History: Bartemius Crouch Jr. was born to Bartemius Crouch Sr from his wife, Mrs Crouch. Barty, as he is known, inherited his father's great intellect, and Crouch Sr, recognising this, pushed the young boy to achieve what he achieved. His standards were high and even though Mrs Crouch was the 'whatever you do, I will love you' sort, Barty strived to achieve his father's standards. He learned many languages, even trying Parselmouth, however he was as likely to confuse the words, and hadn't the skill that the natural gifted heirs of Slytherin could achieve.

By the time he arrived at Hogwarts, Barty had poured so much of himself into his studies, that he was emotionally stunted and had difficulty fitting in. His obvious skill at the craft didn't help and it wasn't until he discovered that he had an inherent ability to mimic others that he was accepted. His impression of Dumbledore, complete with glasses and long wig, delighted many. He found himself a wanted-person and made friends with Regulus Black, also in his year.

When Regulus got involved with the Death Eaters, Barty wasn't far behind. There were a number of Slytherin-alums there as well as Regulus, so it wasn't difficult to join. When he encountered Lord Voldermort, he was taken with his views of order and purity. His words were so passionate, his vision so perfect, that Barty was oblivious to the moral consquences. He felt that it was perfectly fitting with his father's vision of things, a perfect future.

He was surprised to find that Bart Sr. did not agree with Voldermort's Vison. He faltered, but when Voldermort praised him in his work he found himself drawn to him, as a replacement father figure. This view of Voldermort was cemented when Barty Sr. disappeared.

His mother had argued with the path he had taken, but she fell ill soon after, and with his father's disappearance, Barty was forced to nurse her until she died. She couldn't reconcile with what he'd become but she told him that she loved him. Once she had died, he found that he missed her.

Her death solidified in him the need to find his father, in part to tell him of his mother's death, in part to show him the man he's become and in part to confront him about leaving. Therefore he volunteered to join the Auror's office and due to his uncanny impersonations and the fact that he was as ferocious as his father had been, Barty quickly rose the ladder to become its head at the young age of 32. He is arguably one of Voldermort's favourites.

We are completely AU. How do you see your character fitting?
A Death Eater and head of the Aurors. He takes his job very seriously, and does whatever it takes to get the people under him to achieve what he feels that they can achieve.
